Black Friday’s Shopping Addiction

Feelin’ itchy tonight? Hey, it’s Black Friday – that’s a normal feeling, after all. Why normal? Well, you should be scratching your wallet/credit card right now! No, you MUST do it! It doesn’t matter what you really need, today’s the day, so go ahead and buy, buy, BUY!!!

This morning, I woke up with a bunch of emails from trustworthy sources, about 10 of them. All of them were offering me something – Alienware had a Black Friday Sales Event, Amazon.co.uk offered me the Latest Samsung TVs (nothing related to Black Friday here, I just checked some prices earlier this week for a buddy of mine), eBay sent me two Blak Friday-related emails today… not to mention others like Zazzle, GameLink and even one of my local supermarkets! Is this a special day? Do you really need to buy stuff? Sure, it may be a real bargain, but DO YOU REALLY NEED IT? It has nothing to do with the so-called crisis or the fact that I’m not living in the US, only that I hate buying stuff just for the sake of it. It’s not shopping addiction, it’s worse, believe me – it’s brainwashing!

I know it may sound really insane to some of you, but if you want to do something really smart today, don’t do what you feel like doing – don’t follow the herd! Still have some bills to pay? Do that! Think about clearing all your debts, that’s real freedom! Stop buying like an idiot stuff that you don’t really need. There’s life beyond all those shiny Black Friday offers, trust me, and if you don’t, please tell me where can I buy the two things that really matter, no matter how high they may be priced: time and health…

… so be sure that the best Black Friday or Cyber Monday deal you will ever find is, no matter how strange it may seem, no deal. Spend some quality time with the ones you love, go out, fly, swim, run, do something that really matters!
