What Is Freedom, Egypt?

In a few minutes, I’ll be going to bed, but I somehow feel that something’s wrong. I feel pissed off. I know, I know – it’s always better to be pissed off than pissed on, but still… one of this world’s once greatest nations is now celebrating something they think it’s freedom. Well, at least for now, they’re right – it is freedom. Unfortunately, there are plenty of vultures waiting for the right moment to steal it. No need to give names, only some friendly piece of advice…

… think, Egypt, think! Feel what you have to feel – you have the freedom to turn your country into what can become and should, not what others want – don’t be slaves! Free your minds, forget about all the things they want you to identify as symbols of freedom – brainwashing TV channels, junk food, bank loans, crappy call-center jobs. Be yourselves and always remember where you started from – you don’t want to end up having your freedom stolen, right?

What is Freedom, Egypt, what is Freedom??? To me, freedom is being able to work for your country and yourself, get involved in running your country at least by voting the right people to do that and not feeling pissed on at the end of the day. How do you know who’s the right one to vote? Always choose young people without money, but with education, dreams, knowledge and feelings, and you may save your freedom.

I know all the above may sound a bit off, but it’s late at night, I am tired, and I really feel that a large nation may enter about the same path as mine did over two decades ago. For various reasons, we failed. Be sure that you don’t – check Romania’s recent history and learn from our mistakes. That’s all – good night, Egypt, I will dream of your freedom and hope that you keep it safe!
